Two Game-Changing Habits to Never Forget a Task Again

In the past few years, I've tried every app and approach under the sun, every hack and trick to keep my tasks in order. Note, I don't have a problem doing the tasks (at least I like to think so 😉), but remembering to do them was the issue.

So, how did I do it? How do I remember everything I need to do? I used two simple tricks. And the best part is, these tricks can work with most to-do applications. Two magic bullets, and all my memory issues are gone.

Trick 1: Set Recurring Reminders

The first trick is to add two recurring tasks in your to-do application that happen every day, twice a day. You might be thinking, "That's it?" Yes, that's it!

What these daily reminders do is make you stop everything and start a thinking process about all the things that happened yesterday and in the past few days, and what you might need to do based on that. We generally don't remember tasks because we don't stop to think—we just assume if we don't remember, it wasn't important.

Here's proof: a screenshot of my TickTick application showing these reminders 👇🏼

Trick 2: Write It Down Immediately

The second trick is even simpler: as soon as you remember anything or are told to do something, immediately add it to your to-do application. It doesn't matter how trivial it seems—just add it!

I add everything, from my hair cutting appointments and nail trimming schedule to when I need to check my car's tire pressure. Writing it down helps you remember more easily. Remember, they taught us to write things down to help us remember. It's the same concept here. So, write it down!

So there you have it—two simple yet powerful tricks to help you remember all your tasks. By setting recurring reminders and writing down everything as soon as it comes to mind, you can conquer your memory challenges and keep your tasks in perfect order. These habits are easy to implement and can work with any to-do app you prefer.

Give these tricks a try and see how they transform your task management game. You'll be amazed at how much more organized and productive you can be. Happy task mastering!
